Acupressure and Reflexology Points for Gallstones Explained by Yasuko

There are few acupressure points that can help alleviate the pain associated with gallstones and may even help get rid of them if they are small enough.

Acupressure Points

Gallbladder 34 (GB 34) Under the Knee

The first point is located under the knee. Look for a small bone sticking out on the outside of the leg, and press down on the depression underneath it. This is Gallbladder 34 (GB 34). Press both sides simultaneously with your thumbs, hooked thumbs, index finger joints, or any other fingers of your choice. Go down about a thumb width and you'll feel another depression, which is the gallbladder point. Press both sides at the same time but be sure to lighten the pressure if it's too painful.

Gallbladder 41 (GB 41) on Top of the Foot

The second point is located on the top of the foot. Go up the valley between the pinky and 4th toe until you reach where the finger stops. This is Gallbladder 41 (GB 41). If you have difficulty reaching your foot, use a tool such as a pencil eraser to press these points.

Reflexology Point

Gallbladder Reflexology Point

In reflexology, the entire body can be mapped out on the bottom of the feet. The gallbladder is located on the right side of the body and is found by coming down from the fourth and pinky toe until you reach the area between the diaphragm and waistline.

This area can be pressed with overlapped thumbs or by stepping on a golf ball or a small knob on the Thera Cane. Sitting on a chair and stepping on the Thera Cane is the easiest way to access this area.
